Translating UK weather into renewable energy production!
We have long known that the sun and wind are valuable sources of energy but just how much are they able to provide?
Check out the map below or visit the individual pages for more information on how much electricity could have been generated yesterday by solar photovoltaics (PV) or how much hot water could have been produced by a solar thermal installation, in your area. We also have weekly and monthly data for each of our technologies, have a look at their history pages.
Using real weather data, the WeatherEnergy website is updated on a daily basis, providing information on how much the average UK household photovoltaic and solar thermal system could have provided the average household the previous week. It also provides an indication of how many homes could have been powered by the capacity of the UK's existing wind turbines.
